How to Deal with Diesel Generator Overheating Problem

Excessive operation of the the diesel engine will result in a decrease in the power of the diesel engine, a deterioration in the acceleration performance, and an increase in the wear of the moving parts. In severe cases, malignant failures such as pulling the cylinder, sticking the cylinder, burning the tile and burning the piston may occur, resulting in serious damage to the diesel engine. What are the causes of overheating of diesel generators? The first reason is the heat dissipation, cooling and the clogging of the lubrication system, which causes the diesel engine to overheat. The second reason is the leakage of the cooling system and the lubricating oil system, which causes the diesel engine overheat. What kind of situation will cause the diesel engine overheat? 1. Heat dissipation, cooling and clogging of the lubrication system cause the diesel engine to overheat. Blockage of radiator or pipeline: once the radiator and pipeline are blocked, the coolin...

Maintenance for Generator Power Distribution Cabinet

Power distribution cabinet is an indispensable part of diesel generator set. During the operation of the diesel genset, it is inevitable that it will cause certain wear and tear to the distribution cabinet. In order to make the life cycle of the distribution cabinet of the generator set last for a long time, it is necessary and important to do maintenance to the distribution cabinet. Gen Set Power Distribution Cabinet Maintenance - Preparation 1. When doing maintenance to the distribution cabinet, inform customers in advance of power outage. 2. Do all the preparation work before the power outage, especially the preparation tools of the genset  should be complete. 3. Unified command by project manager, the personnel participating in the maintenance work are unified in action, and the division of labor is reasonable, so that the work can be completed efficiently. Gen Set Distribution Box Maintenance – Power failure 1. Disconnect the automatic air switch of the...

General Description of SX440 Automatic Voltage Regulator

General description SX440 is a half-wave phase-controlled thyristor type Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) and forms part of the excitation system for a brush-less generator. In addition to regulating the generator voltage, the AVR circuitry includes under-speed and sensing loss protection features. Excitation power is derived directly from the generator terminals. Positive voltage build up from residual levels is ensured by the use of efficient semiconductors in the power circuitry of the AVR. The AVR is linked with the main stator windings and the exciter field windings to provide closed loop control of the output voltage with load regulation of +1- 1.0%. In addition to being powered from the main stator, the AVR also derives a sample voltage from the output windings for voltage control purposes. In response to this sample voltage, the AVR controls the power fed to the exciter field, and hence the main field, to maintain the machine output voltage with...

Install and Remove Piston Connecting Rod of Diesel Generator

Basic structural principle of piston connecting rod of diesel generator set The piston connecting rod is one of the main moving parts in the diesel generator set. Care must be taken when disassembling the piston connecting rod. When changing parts, pay attention to the structural differences of each model, otherwise it will cause adverse consequences. The piston is made of eutectic silicon aluminum alloy. The basic diesel generator sets have different piston structure differences. When changing the piston, pay special attention to the valve pocket depth dimension and the piston pin hole to the piston top surface distance dimension. Otherwise, the piston may be related to the cylinder head or The valve collides, causing a serious accident, or causing the compression ratio to drop and fail to work properly. The piston skirt is a finished surface that prevents knocking when disassembling. There are 4 small holes of 5mm on the piston pin seat for lubricating oi...
