Idle Speed Problem of Diesel Industrial Generators

When we use diesel generator set, maybe we meet the problem of idle speed of engine, how to solve it? Today Starlight Power generator manufacturer answers for you.

There is no idle speed during cold start, which is generally normal, because the temperature is too low, the oil viscosity is too large, the engine resistance increases, the spray and evaporation conditions of diesel oil become worse, resulting in the engine can not maintain the minimum steady speed operation, and when the throttle is lifted, it will soon flameout. In this case, the throttle can be adjusted to operate slightly higher than idle speed, and the idle operation can be resumed after the engine warms up.

If the engine of diesel industrial generators has been used for a long time, there is no idling condition, and the fuel consumption is not normal with insufficient power, it is generally due to the excessive wear of the plunger and the increase of oil leakage during idling, which makes the fuel supply unable to meet the requirements of idling condition; or the cylinder pressure is too low, and the injection advance angle is too large and too small, which causes poor combustion conditions of the engine. As long as we deal with the problem of insufficient power, the idling condition will recover naturally.

If the above conditions are normal, consider whether the idle working element of the governor is abnormal. Check whether the governor spring is broken, or the governor element is worn too much or the spring is too soft, so that the centrifugal force of the flying hammer at idle speed is far greater than the spring tension and the oil is reduced, or the maintenance personnel adjust improperly. The fuel injection pump assembly must be removed for repair and adjustment on the test bench.

When checking the governor, first adjust it by idle screw. If the adjustment is invalid, adjust the pre tension of idle spring. The idle speed spring adjusting nut can be slightly screwed in or the spring seat can be padded to increase the preload and raise the idle speed. If the spring is broken, it should be replaced and then adjusted to restore the idle working performance.
