DEUTZ metal technology specialist scores 99 out of 100 in his apprenticeship exam
DEUTZ apprentices awarded ‘best performer’ certificates at national, regional and federal state level
DEUTZ training centre wins award for the seventh year in a row
The DEUTZ apprenticeship scheme has once again been recognized as being among the best in the industry, and there was even acknowledgement for the scheme at national level this year. On 4 December 2017, DEUTZ apprentice Kai Wollenweber received an award at the Best in Germany Ceremony in Berlin for achieving the best result in the metal technology specialist exam. The 19-year-old scored 99 out of a possible 100 points. “We are very proud of the achievements of our training centre and of our apprentices. This accolade presented by the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) shows that the quality of our training is right up there with the best in Germany,” says Dr Margarete Haase, the member of the DEUTZ Board of Management with responsibility for Finance, Purchasing and Information Services.
This year, the DEUTZ generator training centre was again recognised at regional and federal state level for its outstanding achievements in vocational training. On 10 October 2017, Jaqueline Kurtseifer, Kai Wollenweber and Arne Weltermann received ‘best performer’ certificates from the Cologne Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK Köln) in recognition of their outstanding exam results. The three DEUTZ apprentices, who are training to become either metal technology specialists or production mechanics, achieved the highest exam scores in their fields in the IHK Köln chamber district.
Recognition at federal state level followed on 9 November 2017 in Duisburg, when Kai Wollenweber and Arne Weltermann were named the best in North Rhine-Westphalia by the Duisburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce. And for the seventh year in a row, the DEUTZ training centre was recognised by the Chambers of Industry and Commerce for its outstanding achievements in vocational training. “We are delighted to have been commended again this year for the high quality of our training and our apprentices’ strong results,” says Frank Opitz, head of the DEUTZ training centre.
At the DEUTZ site in Ulm, two further apprentices were recognised by the local Chamber of Industry and Commerce, which presented business apprentice Carmen Vogel and industrial mechanic Alexander Miller with certificates commending their excellent final exam results.
“Our award-winning apprenticeship scheme provides a foundation for innovation at our Company,” says Dr Margarete Haase.
