Today Starlight Power manufacturer shares the causes for black smoke of generator water pump gasoline engine.
The general small gasoline engine has the advantages of simple structure, small volume, light weight, good mobility, low price and convenient operation, which is widely used in garden machinery, agricultural machinery and other industries.
Because of its wide application, the use and maintenance of small gasoline engine is the concern of the majority of end users. Here we mainly discuss the problem of black smoke emitted by small gasoline engine.
In fact, black smoke is the emission of incomplete gasoline combustion. The main reason is that the mixture is too rich. There are two reasons why the mixture is too rich: one is that the carburetor supplies too much oil, and the other is that the air intake is too little.
Usually, the black smoke is caused by the choke in the closed position or the air filter is blocked. When the engine is working normally, the choke should be in the fully open position, so first check whether the choke is fully open.
Then check whether the air intake system is blocked, including whether there are sundries at the air inlet of the filter, whether the air filter element is too dirty, whether there is too much oil on the sponge filter element, and eliminate the possibility of poor air intake and insufficient air intake. Clean or replace the filter and filter element if necessary, and then check the carburetor oil supply.
Carburetor problems can also cause engine black smoke. After the engine has been used for a period of time, impurities and gels may be generated in the carburetor, which may cause the inlet needle valve not to close tightly, the oil level in the carburetor is too high, and the oil supply is excessive. Due to the wear of the main orifice of carburetor, or due to incorrect maintenance methods, such as cleaning the main orifice with hard material, the main orifice will increase and the oil supply will be excessive. At this time, it is necessary to clean the carburetor with special cleaning agent or replace the carburetor.
Another reason for black smoke is that the clearance between exhaust valves is too small. When the engine is in high temperature, the exhaust valves will not be closed tightly, and the mixture that has not been completely burned before the end of power stroke will be discharged from the engine, resulting in black smoke. The clearance of exhaust valve is generally 0.15-0.20mm. In daily maintenance, regular inspection and adjustment of valve clearance is also one of the fixed items.
Hope above information can let you learn more about the causes of black smoke form gas engine, and can help you to solve problems.
