The problem of carbon deposit in diesel generator

After a long time use of diesel generator set, there will be carbon deposit in cylinder head and psiton if not maintain regularlly.

Carbon deposit of generator set is a kind of hard material with strong adhesion and poor heat transfer performance. As the engine is used for a long time, the carbon deposits will accumulate in the combustion chamber, the top of the piston, the intake and exhaust ducts, etc. It not only hinders the heat dissipation of combustion chamber and piston, but also reduces the volume of combustion chamber and makes the engine work more rough. If the carbon deposit adheres to the intake and exhaust valves and their pipes, the exhaust will be blocked and the air intake will be insufficient; if the carbon deposit is formed at the head of the fuel injector, it is easy to block the injection hole and cause poor fuel atomization. Therefore, it must be removed during maintenance.

The more advanced methods are ultrasonic cleaning and nuclear spraying, but the most commonly used and simplest methods are physical and chemical methods. The two methods can also be used simultaneously.

Chemical method to remove carbon deposits is to take the chemical solution prepared according to the proportion as the raw material to remove the carbon deposit. The prepared solution is heated to 95 ~ 100 ° C, and then the parts are immersed in it for about 60 minutes. After the carbon deposit is fully softened, the carbon deposit on the part is removed with a brush, and finally cleaned with hot water and dried with compressed air.

Physical cleaning method: physical cleaning method is a method often used for thick carbon deposits. The steps are as follows:

1. After removing the cylinder head, valve, intake and exhaust pipe, kerosene can be used to soften the carbon deposit.
2. Remove softened carbon deposits with a wooden scraper.
3. Clean with diesel or gasoline after cleaning.
4. When removing the carbon deposits on the cylinder head and top of the piston without removing the piston, the piston can be placed at the top dead center position, and a layer of grease should be applied at the gap between the piston and the cylinder wall to prevent the carbon deposit from falling into the gap and then scraping. Be careful when you work.

5.When scraping, try not to use metal scraper to avoid damaging the surface of machine parts. Special care should be taken for aluminum alloy products. Once the scratch mark is not treated, the mark will become a new carbon deposition growth center after assembly and use, and the growth rate is much faster than before, so in case of scraping the mark, sandpaper can be used to grind and smooth.

6. After scraping the piston crown and cylinder port, remove the carbon deposit and grease together, and scrub them.

Components of Cummins PT Fuel System

When it comes to Cummins generator, it is well known that the gensets have good quality, low fuel consumption, low noise, big output power and reliable performance. The reliable stability, economy, power performance, durability and environmental safety is welcomed by customers. In last article, we talk about CCEC Cummins diesel engines operating principles. Well, in this article, you will learn what are the major components of its PT Fuel System. Fuel System The PT fuel system is used exclusively on Cummins Diesels. The identifying letters, “ PT ” are an abbreviation for “ pressure-time ” . The operation of the Cummins PT Fuel System is based on the principle that the volume of liquid flow is proportionate to the fluid pressure, the time allowed to flow and the passage size through which the liquid flows. To apply this simple principle to the Cummins PT Fuel System , it is necessary to provide: 1. A fuel pump. 2. A means of controlling pressure of

Leroy-Somer Alternator AVR R450

1 - GENERAL INFORMATION of Leroy-Somer Alternator AVR R450 1.1 - Description The R450 AVR is supplied in a casing designed to be mounted on a panel with dampers. - Operating temperature: - 30°C to + 65°C. - Storage temperature: - 55°C to + 85°C. - Shocks on the base: 9 g depending on the 3 axes. - Vibrations: less than 10 Hz, 2 mm half-peak amplitude 10 Hz to 100 Hz: 100 mm/s, above 100 Hz: 8 g. The AVR is IP00, it must be incorporated in an environment which ensures it a IP20 protection. 1.2 - Characteristic The connection is realised by “Faston” connectors and the voltage sensing is single - phase. 2 - POWER SUPPLY Both the SHUNT/AREP & PMG excitation systems are controlled by the AVR. 2.1 - AREP excitation system With AREP excitation, the electronic AVR is powered by two auxiliary windings which are independent of the voltage sensing circuit. The first winding has a voltage proportional to the   alternator   main voltage (Shunt characteristic),
