Dingbo Power Exported A 30KW Yuchai Diesel Generator to Zimbabwe

 Dingbo Power produced and exported a prime power 30KW open type diesel generator set to Zimbabwe in May, 2024. The genset is powered by Yuchai YC4V55Z-D20 engine and coupled with Shanghai Stamford GR180H alternator. It can provide optimum performance, reliability and versatility for stationary standby and prime power applications.


Features of Yuchai 30KW diesel generator set


Yuchai YC4V55Z-D20 Engine – This diesel engine delivers reliable power with low emission, low fuel consumption, low noise and low vibration. The engine is compact in structure, small in size, light in weight and easy to maintain on one side. When below ambient temperature 45 ℃ and below 1000 meters altitude, 1500 RPM engine operation is able to output rated power.


Shanghai Stamford GR180H alternator – It offers superior motor starting capability with low reactance 2/3 pitch windings. Its self-excitation control provides continuous short-circuit current capability. Class H insulation can withstand harsh environmental conditions.


Control System – Manual start, the controller includes indicators such as current, frequency, voltage, opening and closing.


The generator set is equipped with a 63A circuit breaker, which prevents that the electrical installation suffers overloads and short circuits.

Design considerations of the air flue of a generator room


Generally, open type diesel generator sets are installed in dedicated generator rooms. A well-designed generator room should ensure that ventilation airflow (room inlet airflow) is adequate to reject the heat produced during operation and support the engine combustion process. Therefore, it’s essential to ensure the efficient ventilation of the air inlet/outlet opening during the design process.


This not only helps to provide sufficient air for the combustion process of the unit, but also provide an environment for the maintenance/operation personnel so they can work comfortably. A lot of heat, such as engine heat and alternator heat, is generated during operation, so a reasonable exhaust system can effectively reject the heat and help keep the room temperature close to the ambient temperature.


To ensure proper ventilation, the air inlet/outlet opening should be of suitable dimensions. It’s recommended that the generator room adopts inclined top air intake and set it on one side of the control panel of the diesel genset. Louvers and metal protection net should be installed and fitted to the windows to prevent foreign objects from entering and ensure good air convection. The louver fins should have openings of sufficient dimensions to make sure that air circulation is not being blocked. Otherwise, the occurring backpressure might cause the genset to overheat.


To prevent the return of hot air, keep the distance between the air inlet opening and the air outlet opening of the genset as far as possible, and ensure that the air flow in the generator room is smooth. At the same time, the air intake should be protected to avoid the intrusion of rain and other foreign objects.


When installing exhaust outlets or exhaust shafts with shutters and metal shields, ensure that the net area of the exhaust outlet is at least 1.4 times the effective area of the radiator core. The engine crankcase ventilation should be connected to the front of the radiator via a hose. In this way, oil vapor should be easily discharged from the room to the outside. Precautions should be taken so that rain water does not enter the crankcase ventilation line. Automatic louver systems should be used in applications with gaseous fire extinguishing systems.
