Introduction of Diesel Generator Set AVR



The voltage regulator (AVR) is a kind of sealed electronic device. By controlling the low-power exciter magnetic field and adjusting the rectifier output power of the exciter armature, it can control the magnetic field current of the host machine and stabilize the output voltage of the brushless generator. It has low-frequency and no input signal protection devices. With parallel compensation function, it can meet the needs of customers' capacity expansion. Therefore, it is very important to maintain the voltage regulator (AVR).

So, what are main causes AVR damage?
1.AVR circuit consists of three parts: rectifier main circuit, voltage detection circuit and comparison control circuit. Excluding the possibility of damage caused by the quality of the original electrical components, in the whole AVR circuit, the working frequency of the main circuit and comparison control circuit changes the most; the rectifier bridge of the main circuit and the transistor of the comparison circuit change the more frequently, The damage rate of AVR is more than 90%;

2.Since the AVR on the imported generator is a non disassembly and repair accessory, it needs to be replaced if it is damaged. Therefore, we mainly analyze the causes of the AVR damage on the diesel generator. It is the most important to avoid the AVR damage as much as possible. As long as it is used properly, the service life of the AVR can be improved. The more stable the generator voltage, the smaller the variation frequency in the AVR; the smaller the switching action of the transistor in the comparison circuit, The probability of AVR damage is smaller;

3.The output load is relatively stable, the smaller the variation frequency in AVR, the smaller the switching action of transistors in the comparison circuit, the smaller the probability of AVR damage; the more stable the rotation speed of diesel engine, the smaller the oscillation impact of the variation current on AVR; the main cause of AVR damage is the frequent "traveling block" and overload, and the large difference of three-phase load; the generator set with E, F, C fuel system is selected, Because of the small frequency variation, the use of AVR will be more reliable.
