Fault Codes on Indicator Light of Cummins Generator

 Do you know how to read fault codes Cummins generator indicator light? Starlight generator factory here tell you.

The control system of Cummins diesel generator (land use generator driving type) can display and record some operation faults, and these faults are expressed in the form of fault codes. These fault codes can make faults analysis easier. The fault codes are recorded in ECM. These fault codes can be read by using the fault indicator on the dashboard or the INSITETMTM service tool.

1.Displaying fault code on fault indicator
Most, but not all, electronic fault codes turn on the fault indicator when they work. When a fault code works, four kinds of fault indicator lights may turn on.
A.If “ warning” Indicator light is yellow, indicating we should remove faults as soon as possible;
B.If “stop” indicator light is red, indicating we need to shut down the diesel engine safely as soon as possible;
C.Diesel land use generators should be maintained in a state of shutdown until all faults are removed;
D.When maintain diesel generator, “Mait” maintenance indicator will flashes;
E.The diesel generator set is also equipped with a "water in fuel" (W.I.F) indicator. "there is water in fuel" (W.I.F) indicator indicates that water in oil-water separator of diesel generator needs to be discharged. As long as the indicator lights up, drainage should be carried out as soon as possible;
F.To check whether there are fault codes of diesel generator electronic system and maintenance indicator codes, the key switch should be transferred to the "OFF" position and the "diag" diagnostic switch should turn on;
G.Then turn the key switch to “ON” connection position, if the current fault code is not recorded, the indicator lamps will turn on, and the “warning” indicator lamp and "stop" indicator light will always turn on; if the current fault codes are recorded, the “warning” indicator lamp and "stop" indicator lamp will turn on in an instant. The “stop” indicator lamp will turn on instantaneously and then start recording the fault codes.

2.The fault code indicator lights flicker in the following order:
A.The yellow “warning” indicator lamp flashes.
B.1~2s suspension.
C.(2) 1-2s suspension.
D.The fault codes will flicker on the red “stop” indicator lamp.
E.There will be a 1-2 s pause between each number.

The yellow warning light flashes again when the number flickers through the red indicator. Failure numbers will flicker repeatedly in the same order. Each fault code will flicker twice and then go to the next fault code.
If want to skip the next fault code quickly, temporarily pull “idle/diag” adjustment switch to the (+) position. If want to get back to last fault codes, just temporarily pull “idle/diag” adjustment switch to the (-) position. If it only records one current fault code, whatever pull to (+) position or (-) position, the control system will keep displaying a same fault code.

If you can know the meaning of fault codes of the indicator light on Cummins generator, you will be able to remove faults quickly.

Components of Cummins PT Fuel System

When it comes to Cummins generator, it is well known that the gensets have good quality, low fuel consumption, low noise, big output power and reliable performance. The reliable stability, economy, power performance, durability and environmental safety is welcomed by customers. In last article, we talk about CCEC Cummins diesel engines operating principles. Well, in this article, you will learn what are the major components of its PT Fuel System. Fuel System The PT fuel system is used exclusively on Cummins Diesels. The identifying letters, “ PT ” are an abbreviation for “ pressure-time ” . The operation of the Cummins PT Fuel System is based on the principle that the volume of liquid flow is proportionate to the fluid pressure, the time allowed to flow and the passage size through which the liquid flows. To apply this simple principle to the Cummins PT Fuel System , it is necessary to provide: 1. A fuel pump. 2. A means of controlling pressure of

Leroy-Somer Alternator AVR R450

1 - GENERAL INFORMATION of Leroy-Somer Alternator AVR R450 1.1 - Description The R450 AVR is supplied in a casing designed to be mounted on a panel with dampers. - Operating temperature: - 30°C to + 65°C. - Storage temperature: - 55°C to + 85°C. - Shocks on the base: 9 g depending on the 3 axes. - Vibrations: less than 10 Hz, 2 mm half-peak amplitude 10 Hz to 100 Hz: 100 mm/s, above 100 Hz: 8 g. The AVR is IP00, it must be incorporated in an environment which ensures it a IP20 protection. 1.2 - Characteristic The connection is realised by “Faston” connectors and the voltage sensing is single - phase. 2 - POWER SUPPLY Both the SHUNT/AREP & PMG excitation systems are controlled by the AVR. 2.1 - AREP excitation system With AREP excitation, the electronic AVR is powered by two auxiliary windings which are independent of the voltage sensing circuit. The first winding has a voltage proportional to the   alternator   main voltage (Shunt characteristic),
