Maintenance Problems of Diesel Generators

Regular overhaul is an important measure to ensure the safe operation of equipment. It is an effective means to restore the technical performance of equipment, eliminate failure and eliminate hidden troubles, and prolong the service life of equipment.

1.Problems in equipment maintenance methods
Some users can not judge correctly in equipment maintenance and analyze the faults, blindly disassembly is a common problems;


Because some maintenance personnel are not clear about the mechanical structure and principle of the equipment, they do not carefully analyze the causes of the failure, can not accurately judge the fault location, and blindly dismantle the equipment with the idea of "approximate, similar". As a result, not only the original fault has not been eliminated, but also because of poor maintenance skills and technology, new problems have arisen.
Therefore, when the machine fails, it should be tested by the testing equipment; if there is no testing equipment, it can be determined by traditional fault judgment methods, such as "ask, look, check, test", combining with the structure and working principle of the equipment, to determine the most likely fault location.
In judging equipment failure, the "exclusion method" and "comparison method" are commonly used, in accordance with the sequence from simple to complex, first appearance then internal, then assembly and components, to avoid "ignoring the red and white, blindly dismantling large-scale disassembly".

2.The phenomenon of blindly replacing spare parts and blindly replacing parts and repairing them exists to varying degrees.

It is relatively difficult to judge and eliminate equipment failure. Some maintenance personnel always adopt the method of replacement test, no matter large or small parts, as long as they think it may lead to failure of parts and components, one by one replacement test. The result is not only that the failure has not been eliminated, but also that the parts that should not be replaced are replaced at will, which increases the maintenance cost. Some faulty parts can be repaired to restore their technical performance, such as generators, air compressors, blowers, burners, gear pumps and other faults, which can be repaired without complex repair technology. In maintenance, we should carefully analyze and judge the causes and locations of the faults according to the phenomena of the faults, and adopt repair methods to restore the technical performance of the repairable parts, so as to prevent blindly replacing the parts.
3.Parts are not thoroughly cleaned and decontaminated. Early damage and corrosion often occur.
When repairing equipment, it is great significance to remove oil and impurities on the surface of spare parts correctly to improve the repair quality and prolong the service life of machinery. Failure to strengthen the cleaning of parts, unreasonable selection of cleaning agents and improper cleaning methods will lead to early wear and corrosive damage of parts. If the impurities in bolt holes and sand grains in hydraulic components are not thoroughly removed, the bolt will be damaged.

When we maintain diesel power generator, we must pay attentions to avoid above problems, otherwise, maybe loss too much cost.
