What causes cylinder head of Cummins diesel generator cranking?

1.Add cooling water after starting.
After the diesel engine is started, the temperature in Cummins generator rises immediately. If cooling water is used at this time, the cylinder block and cylinder head will be cooled rapidly, and cracks will occur due to cold shrinkage.
2.After shutdown, cooling water was not discharged. The water in the machine freezes into ice, the volume increases, and the cylinder block and cylinder head crack.
3.During the operation of the generator set, if the cooling water is short or the temperature of the boiler opening machine in the water tank is too high, the cooling water will be used. Excessive cold shrinkage of the cylinder block and cylinder head can also cause cracking.
4.When the generator is operated for a long time, the temperature inside the generator is high, and the hot water will be discharged immediately after parking. It will cause the high-temperature parts to crack when encountering cold air.
5.Use the pressure reducer to shut down, so that the high temperature cylinder head suddenly meets the extremely cold air and causes cracking.

There are some ways to avoid cracking of various cylinder bodies and cylinder heads.

1.Before starting Cummins generator, the water tank shall be used for warm water. Hot water shall be filled for 2-3 times in severe winter. It is better to start when the water flowing out of the drain valve is about 30-50 ℃.

2.When Cummins generator operates for a long time, wait for about half an hour after shutdown, and drain cooling water when the temperature drops to 40 ~ 50 ℃. After draining, it is better to use fine wire to poke through the drain valve switch to avoid sediment blocking the drain valve.
3.When Cummins diesel generator operation is overheated and seriously short of water, let Cummins diesel engine idle for 10-15 minutes at low speed, and then gradually participate in cooling water.
